HMS Victory, her story in history speaks for itself. You might have noticed that almost every European brand has produced a kit of her. We believe she must be the starting point for some modellers. Thanks to advances in mold technology, today, Neverland Hobby might be able to make some interesting attempts at such a small scale as 1/700.
The Neverland Hobby 77001 HMS Victory w/ Interior is a 1/700 scale kit. Although its size is compact, it’s packed with detail. The kit provides every deck of the HMS Victory and faithfully replicates the most important features of European sailing ships: the dense ribbing. You’ll also receive a complete keel. Have you ever considered that a 1/700 model ship can also showcase its internal structure?
In fact, we not only provide every cannon on the gun decks but also include some extras as spares. Most of the gun ports in this kit are depicted open, offering a more complete representation of the grandeur of a 104-gun first-rate. We did consider using etched parts for the ports, but quickly dismissed the idea because producing over a hundred doors would be maddening. Additionally, even the thickest etched parts would still be too thin. Instead, we decided to use integrated plastic parts, and the excellent mold technology ensures that they accurately display the battleship's robust oak hull.
More experienced modellers may have already realized that recreating the ship's wheel and ship's bell at 1/700 scale is challenging with plastic parts, and they’re right. We don’t intend to push the limits of plastic, so we’ve used an 8K precision 3D printer. Each kit will include 3D-printed ship’s wheels, ship’s bells, and two of the Royal Navy's renowned mortars.
Below the main deck, in addition to the 24-pounder and 32-pounder cannons, you'll find even more interesting details such as the bilge pumps, freshwater distillation boilers, the galley, and the capstans. We believe it’s these elements beneath the surface that truly bring the machinery to life.
The exquisite carvings and the "Victory" inscription on the stern are rendered using water decals, so modellers need not worry about the difficulty of painting these details. The large, fluttering flags at the top of the mast have always been a highlight of sailing ships. In the decals, we've included the British flag, the Royal Navy ensign, and the Royal Navy Admiral's flag, adding more expressiveness to the model.
In addition to the basic kit, we also offer the 77001E HMS Victory w/Interior Elite Edition. This kit includes everything from the basic kit, plus additional PE parts such as rigging ropes, ladders, and safety nets to enhance detail. Additionally, it features extra removable cabin partitions that divide the interior into spaces like the command room, captain’s quarters, and officers' mess, reflecting the scenes often depicted in artistic works.
The Elite Edition also includes a conference table, an officer's dining table, and a bed specifically for Admiral Nelson (Due to his injuries, couldn’t use the hammocks common among naval personnel). These parts are all 3D-printed, further enhancing the model’s expressiveness. Additionally, the Elite Edition comes with a stainless steel base to help you display your masterpiece more effectively.
We know you're tired of the usual subjects, so it’s time to try a completely new approach. The product molds are currently in the testing phase. The 3D-printed test samples will be showcased at the 62nd All Japan Model and Hobby Show in October, and we'll also post photos of the plastic parts on social media.
